Moxon Architects restored and adapted a conservation-listed building and a former police station in Fraserburgh, Scotland, with the addition of a modern extension clad in weathering steel.
The extension is set back from the eastern eaves and indented to the rear, connecting the Town Hall to the police station.
The new building is constructed of weathering steel and curtain walling. Perforations in the steel panels allow views of the original masonry.
Its glazed frontage shows the façade of the existing building and forms the internal wall of the extension.
